I have been practicing psychology in Connecticut for my entire career. I attended college at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and then received my doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC. I worked for many years within a community mental health setting as a clinician for children, adolescents, and families and as a clinical coordinator of multiple programs. I then transitioned into a busy group private practice and to a private agency where my focus on understanding families and the clinical needs of children grew.
I continue to specialize in the treatment of children, teens, and families within my private practice. I work closely with parents and often offer family therapy and parent support to the families I work with. Children struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioral disorders, trauma, and Autism spectrum disorders make up the majority of my practice. I believe strongly that working with parents and families is essential in treating children. I believe that children are resilient and that parents need support and effective tools to succeed. I also believe that our past relationships fuel our current attachments and that gaining insight and understanding is the catalyst to change. I engage my clients with honest feedback, humor, and compassion as I strive to partner on the journey towards effective change. My goal is for you to feel respected and simultaneously challenged and held accountable.
